Work from left to right.
3. What is an exponent?
An EXPONENT is also called an INDEX or a POWER. It tells you how many times to multiply a number BY ITSELF. e.g. 43 means 4 × 4 × 4.
4. What is a negative number?
A negative number is an integer that is less than zero. e.g. -3 is a negative number.
5. What sign does the answer have if I multiply a negative number by another negative number?
Strangely enough the answer is POSITIVE! e.g. -3 × -3 = +9
