Algebraic fractions contain variables (letters) in one form or another. Ordinary fractions just contain numbers.

Both types of fractions obey the SAME basic rules.

2. When can terms be cancelled in an algebraic fraction?

Terms can only be cancelled when they are in factor form i.e. Being multiplied.
