The Binomial Theorem

Summary

an expression such as (2x + 3) is called a binomial.

expanding an expression such as (2x + 3)7 is called a binomial expansion.

the binomial theorem is a formula for carrying out such an expansion without having to multiply it out.

an understanding of the basics of combinations, permutations and factorials is required to fully understand binomial coefficients.
